Double-Stop was invited to represent the United States. The film was presented at the 1968 Cannes Film Festival as a special event outside of competition. Double-Stop was screened at a number of venues before the Festival came to a sudden halt due to power outages as the famous cultural revolution of 1968 caused strikes that rippled outward from Paris.
